Her birthplace was Roswell on March 29, 1985. Her given initials are Gerina Mendoza. Gerina Stevenson was born to Mexican parents Rita Stevenson and Alan Stevenson. The mother of two is a Mexican American and is American by citizenship. She has always been a fan of sports. Gerina first began to golf when she was 15. Gerina completed her secondary schooling through Goddard High School. At the age of 16, she was a winner in the New Mexico state golf championship. As a volleyball player, she was also a participant in state tournaments. The year 2003 was the year she began studying at The University of Texas. The year she was in her senior year, she was the winner of every competition she competed in. In her undergraduate year, she received an individual award by the Conference USA for player of this year and was also named UTEP Female Athletic of the Year.
