Amanda Seales formerly Amanda Diva (born in Los Angeles California on July 1 in 1981) is a comedic performer and DJ. Amanda relocated out of the Los Angeles area to Orlando in 1981, at eight years old. She was a student at Dr. Phillips High School before attending SUNY Purchase. Columbia University awarded her a Master's Degree in African American Studies, with an emphasis on hip-hop. She began her career in the now-cult Nickelodeon sitcom My Brother and Me (1994) playing the character Deonne, later becoming widely recognized by the general public for her role as a television host Amanda Diva, the face of hip-hop, on MTV2 Sucker Free Sundays. While she was an artist on the recording stage and a spoken word poet, in 2011, she changed her name to Amanda Diva back to Amanda Seales as well as returning to television, and then including stand-up comedians to her resume. She is the CEO of DivaWorks Inc her production company where she is a stand-up comedian and creates smart, funny material on the screen and stage.
